Scott Bramble Tattoos and Illustration

I’m Scott Bramble. I’m the owner and full-time tattooer at Mercury Tattoo Studio in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. I began my formal tattoo apprenticeship in October 1990, and in 2000 I opened Mercury with the goal of building a studio centered on solid craft, thoughtful design, and long-term client relationships. More than 25 years later, that’s still the point.

Alongside tattooing, I’m an illustrator with a deep interest in American history. A big focus recently being on the Revolutionary era and the stories rooted here in Bucks County. What draws me in isn’t just the romance of the past, but the complicated, human reality of it: competing accounts, messy motives, and the way “history” gets shaped by who’s telling it. That’s why narrative illustration has become such a natural extension of my work, and it’s what led to a major commission creating the artwork for the Mercer Museum’s “Doan Gang: Outlaws of the Revolution” exhibit. (Still on exhibit through at least 12/26)

At heart, whether I’m tattooing or drawing, I’m chasing the same thing: Strong images with depth and intention that hold up, read clearly, and feel like they belong.
